from the mind of critic-5/23/18

From the mind of critic: If making people laugh is the best way to make them think, are some us such uncritical thinkers we’ve forgotten how to laugh? Has the ingrained minutea of survival, caused us to only see darkness? Has the ingrained minutea of survival, caused us to make the best of things? Can laughter happen without critical thought, or must it always contain some thought, if even on a subconscious level? They say laughter is the best medicine, an elixir to mend broken hearts, ease worried minds and awaken hibernating souls. They also say critical thought spawns knowledge, which is what makes the human species truly powerful. Laughter is more left brained, and critical thought more right. Sometimes they seem to conflict with one another, when really they’re completely symbiotic, due to them being the left and right side of the same thing. Just as the brain wouldn’t function if all its parts weren’t working in perfect harmony, niether would life. Once we realize laughter builds up our soul, specifically so we can inhale and then exhale critical thought, we’ll see the world is only as dark or as light as we percieve. Laughter leads to thought, thought to action, and action to revolutionary evolution. When we laugh we allow ourselves to think, and vice versa. The difference between living and surviving, is conscious thought. Satire is society’s dramamine.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “If we have a long awaited and even longer needed vacation coming up, what do we do in the meantime to occupy our mind? Do we waste time by filling our days with brainless and useless actions, because we believe not thinking will help us not obsess about our trip? Do we kill time, where we not only utilize brainless actions, but we put extensive thought into making our actions as brainless as possible, believing it will speed the time till our trip? Do we spend time being kind to ourselves, and building up our energy so we give our trip the importance it deserves, which will motivate us to make sure isn’t our last? Waiting for something good we know is going to happen. isn’t the worst problem in the world. However, if we let time float by until the day we’ve been waiting for, we won’t be spending it in the most uplifting way possible, which brought us what we’ve been waiting for in the first place. Differentiating between spending, wasting and killing time might sound like semantics, but two are based on being conscious and close minded, with the other based on being consciously open minded. What will bring us more success? We have a more joyful and fulfilling life, if we stay open to the world’s beauty on a constant basis. Being conscious now, prevents us from having to wait till later. Remembering how we acheived goals, is what keeps us acheiving. We all deserve vacations, because we all need to recharge our batteries.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “If balance is the key to life, and guaging authenticity of thought to reality on the ground is the key to emotional stability, what is the key to our personal search for truth? Does balancing microcosms within a macrocosm within all our macrocosms, within everybody else’s macrocosms, provide black and white, step by step, chronological instructions? Does ignorant unconsciousness provide a blissful image of what we believe to be our reality, but is actually created by moneychangers to control us? Does finding a middle ground between knowing what’s going, not knowing and not getting hung up on outcomes, provide leeway to make on the spot, pragmatic decisions for our highest good? Does labeling an idea or living it, hinder or enhance our evoution? Understanding that language means everything and nothing at the same time, means we’re open minded and joyful, not egotistical and cynically self sabotaging. If we want to locate our path, we can’t be so fixated on an idea, that we paint all others as lies. What we believe to be our truth, could be a wolf in sheeps clothing, that’s blocking us from our actual truth. We must be open to possibilities, if we wanna evolve. Believing we’re the center of the universe, proves we’re the exact opposite. Authentic balance, means knowing definitions change from person to person. To search for truth, means being ready to find it.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “If a sporting event goes into sudden death, do we get excited because the name entails only one side will make it alive? Are we let down when one side finnaly ends it, and both sides may be extremely tired, but leave with the same numbers they started with? Do we feign excitement because although sudden death is deplorable to us, we keep our mouths shut for fear we’ll become sudden death’s newest forced competitor? Do we feign disgust, because although sudden death excites the most primal of our animal instincts, we keep our mouths shut for fear we’ll be pegged as the monsters we really are, but have yet to admit? Now obviously games that use the term sudden death to refer to overtime, are marketed to the basest of our base levels as beings at the top of the food chain. We must ask why this is, and how much society would be different if we didn’t use overt and covert coded language. Is the increase of violent attacks linked to our metastisizing numbness of violent language, let alone school shootings, which many believe nothing can be done about? Once we realize the glorification and increasing monetization of violence causes some of us to believe it’s okay to commit, we’ll see that if we can’t even treat the symptoms, we sure as hell won’t find a cure. When labels are placed without critical thought, violence will surely follow. Numbness to society isn’t a coping mechanism, it’s ignorance. Language might not mean anything, but it means everything. We stop violence, by walking the walk.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “If we acheive what we didn’t think possible, are we skeptical of the outcome? Did we believe it had such a low probability of happening, that we never got our hopes up? Did these low expectations cause our low enthusiasm, when we should be happy we succeeded at something that took great effort? Does the switch from not very likely to definitely happening present great difficulty, or are we allowing our self sabotage to destroy what should be cause for great celebration? Acheiving our goals should always be cause for celebration, even if our overworked and sleep deprived mind looks for reasons not to. We must always remember to celebrate triumphs and overcoming hurdles, recognizing we acheived what we set out to do. Sometimes our energy is so burned out from striving, that we don’t have any left for recognition. Sometimes we get so locked into low probabilities, that it’s hard to flip that switch. Maybe we were so sure something wouldn’t happen that we let go of the outcome, which actually raised our chances of success because we weren’t obsessing. Once we realize that balancing positive visualization and letting go of outcomes is the key to success, we’ll see not focusing on results breeds success, and recognizing success breeds more. Letting go of outcomes breed success, which needs recognition to be authentic. Achieving goals, is why we work hard. Self recognition is only egotistical, if we use it to degrade others. Dark tunnels are only scary, if we allow the light at the end to be overshadowed.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “When we decipher the path we’re meant to travel, what motivates us to put one foot in front of the other? Is it the vibrancy of our goals, and how each and every step is laid out in black and white? Is it the vibrancy of our soul, and how each step is measured for whether it leads us forward or backward? Is it the vibrancy of the universe, and how we’re shown objects and events we previously thought impossible? Is it vibrancy at all, or the lack there of? We learn through life experience that there isn’t one thing that motivates us, it’s several, which change over time, and from person to person. Which can make it extremely difficult to decipher what works for us. We can learn from others, but since our experience is unique to theirs by definition, we can’t copy them excatly, which is where critical thinking comes in. Once we realize that the key to finding motivation to work our passion, is inhaling the world’s beauty externally as well as internally, we’ll see that finding our path is only the first step, the second is letting go of outcomes and being true to ourselves as we walk the earth. That second step is the physical embodiment of our motivation, which we define by looking in the mirror. What motivates us, is what feeds our soul. The earth becomes more vibrant, the more authentic we are. Life is like a step ladder that never ends. Realizing motivation morphs as we journey, gives our soul stamina.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “If we repeat mistakes born of unlearned historical lessons, how can we stop the cycle? Do we force ourselves to be conscious of every thought and interaction, questioning and analyzing until our brain explodes? Do we completely turn off by ignoring everything, letting our ignorance grow through rose colored glasses? Do we find balance, being as consious as we can though understanding, while realizing we aren’t perfect? As students of history, we know historical events repeat themselves because we forget about the buildup, or become apathetic and complacent because the problems have already been solved. There is a certain amount of procrastination bred into us as humans, a feeling that we can always put something off until tomorrow or the next day. Once we realize procrastination comes from a lack of self confidence, we’ll see the more we look at today’s issues and where they sprang, the more those issues become solvable because we believe we’re good enough to have the answer. It may not always be the right answer, but the more we try though human conversation with our suppossed enemy, the more unity we acheive, the more lessons we learn, and the less problems get repeated. Learning lessons is like letting go, it’s a constant process. Over analyzing, births inaction. Learning lessons, means forever asking why. We reduce our ignorance by opening our eyes, and never closing them again.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “If life came with an instruction manual, would it make our day to day routine easier? Would decisions cease to be difficult, because answers have already been conjured? Would our critical thinking suffer, because with a manual we wouldn’t have to think at all? Do we always look for the easy way out, or just an easier way out? So many tough decisions to make, so many anitquated jerks to deal with, it seems life would be alot easier with step by step instructions. It might be easier, but only in the way ignorance makes life easier by ignoring what’s in front of our face, in favor of an idealized and imaginary portrayal. Once we realize we may want a life manual, but understand one would never exist because of human’s unique nature, we’ll see that everyday and through every experience, we’re creating our own manual by learning lessons and gaining understanding. The only manual for life we need, are the critical thoughts in our head. Ignorance may be the lack of knowledge, but enlightenment is the attainment of knowledge. The easy way out may be appealing, but so is fleeting happiness. Life isn’t always easy, but doesn’t always have to be hard.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “Did we put our parent’s shoes on when we were kids, because we wanted to practice walking in them? Did we slip our pint size feet into gigantic boots, and realize it was hard to walk around ? Were we trying to emulate our parents, playing around like we were adults? Were we practicing to walk around in our own shoes, by walking around in somebody elses? When we grow up we walk around less and less in other people’s shoes, but when we were little we walked around in all the big people shoes we could find. We didn’t care if they were sandals, boots, sneakers, slippers or galoshes, we put those suckers on and stomped around. It didn’t matter if they were way to big, or what the ethnicity the shoes owner was, we had fun anyway. Once we realize that walking in somebody else’s shoes isn’t a foreign concept because we grew up doing it, we’ll see it’s just one more thing we’ve forgotten about as adults, but something we can relearn anytime we want. Walking in somebody else’s shoes, allows us to view the world through their eyes. Judgement, equals projection. We can’t walk in another’s shoes, before we walk in our own. If we have to walk before we run, we have to think before we walk.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “If we prejudge a person before we interact with them, is it worse then judging them after? Is judging a person better after we learn their character flaws, or before we learn their quirks? Is judging a person at all whether it’s before or after we get to know them useful at all, or is non judgment the key in uniting disparate groups who have ripped at each other’s throats for generations, because what makes us different makes us the same? All judgement, whether pre or post is wrong. If we have an issue with that statement, we must ask ourselves whether we like being judged. Does it matter if somebody knows us? Does it matter if they have our best interest at heart? There is an exception for actual judges, they are an integral part of our justice system, and are paid accordingly. Prejudging is like claiming your psychic, when you know you’re not. Judge not less ye be judged, could mean we shouldn’t get pissed off unless we want to get pissed on. Appreciating our differences, means not putting each other down for them. Unification will happen, once we look in the mirror and stop judging ourselves.” 🙂
