From the mind of critic: “If time apart makes the heart grow fonder, is it because we’re not sweating the small stuff? Are we ignoring red flags because of lonliness, making our heart grow fonder through purely synthesized reality? Are we simply making the best of things, or do we firmly believe long distance relationships are possible, through unfettered and unfiltered communication? Not sweating the small stuff and paying attention to the bigger picture, is a way to organize our priorities so we have the highest possible emotional well being. However, not sweating the small stuff, doesn’t mean we should ignore it, quite the contrary. The heart can grow fonder when there isn’t time apart, but it takes hard work, introspection and personal growth. Once we realize that not letting little things get us down through self sabotage is what makes the heart grow fonder, not ignoring what’s important, we’ll see we don’t always have control over time apart, but when it happens, we must learn the difference between letting go, giving up and ignoring if we want to evolve. A fond heart doesn’t need time apart, it needs knowledge. Ignorance is only bliss, when we don’t know the definition of either. Making the best of things, requires vigliant mindfulness. Not sweating the small stuff can make the heart grow fonder, if we constantly look in the mirror.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “If we admit what a long strange trip its been, are we acknowledging all the lessons that have presented themselves? Is our admission itself proof we learned our lessons, because if we have time to admit our long trip has been strange, we must be in a better place now, than we were then? Does our long strange trip become evident not cause we learned out lessons, but because we’re still alive and kicking despite doing the same things we’ve always done? Are only some our trips long and strange because of lessons we may or may not have learned, or are all of our trips long and strange by vurtue of being humans who don’t have all the answers? All of us wonder how we’ve gotten this far, cosidering everything currently plaguing our species. Some of us have learned lessons, which translates to a less strange life. While others have ignored lessons, which leads to our life becoming increasingly strange. Once we realize the more conscious we are, the better chance we have to learn the lessons we’re suppossed to learn, we’ll see life’s strangeness is directly linked to our choices. Life is a long strange trip, but it keeps us on our toes. Ignorance drives us backward, while consciousness drives us forward. Admission of wrong choices, helps us make the right ones. We all stumble and fall, getting up is what matters.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “If we agree on most of the issues currently plaguing our society, but disagree on causes, cures, alternatives and solutions, is there hope? If we agree there’s too much gun violence, but disagree on whether we need more guns or less, is there hope? If we agree reducing unwanted pregnancies and abortions is a good thing, but disagree on whether to make abortions harder or easier to get, as well as family planning information, birth control and planned parenthood, is there hope? If we agree we should all have the freedom to worship how we choose, and the ability to love who, how and what we want, but disagree on if other people having these rights effect ours, is there hope? With so much strife, division, dehumanization, violence, and a serious downward trend of interpersonal communication and interaction, thinks can seem really bleak. So bleak to the point it may seem like we’ve passed the point of no return. However, the light at the end of the tunnel, has always and will always burn within our soul to light the way. If life is all about perception, then yeah our situation appears dire. It could also be a time of hope, because everything is so overt, we’re being forced to deal with what we’ve long ignored, but we will come out better on the other side because we will have learned a lesson, whether we realize it or not. Whether that leads in a positive or negative directionis up to us. Hope without action, is empty. Agreeing to disagree, opens us up to everywhere we already agreed. Better mental health does quell gun violence, but only by walking the walk. Understanding what divided us, is the exact blueprint to unite us.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “If the A side of a record is purportedly good songs, are the B side songs inherently bad? Have the A side songs always been known to be the best because of history and tradition, which gets them much more air time, and opportunity for monetary gain? Have the B side songs always known to not be the worst, just not as good, because history and tradition have never afforded the B side what they’ve offered the A side, unless the B side is lucky enough to be singled out as one of the “good ones”? Is it the DJs, radio executives, advertisers, governement and CEOs who choose what’s A and B, or is it the listening audience who chooses not one category over another, but what touches their soul? Many people who are in the majority have always been in the majority, and haven’t had to undergo the same adversity, persecution and dehumanization of the minority, specifically because of history and tradition. However, these roles of majority and minority roles can be subjective, as well as an illusion. Majority and minority roles can be social, economic and racial, which can be cemented by the elites to control the poor and working class. Once we realize that the majority minority rules of race, are used to cover up that the elites themselves are the minority and the people the majority, we’ll see not only is unification possible, but so is an uprising, when we understand how much time we’ve wasted fighting each other, instead of who really deserves it. Unification will happen, when we’re not seperated into A and B. We’re not an A side and a B side, we’re the same side. Seperation iself isn’t as important as why. History and tradition evolve as we do. We’re all the “good ones”, when we see each other as the same.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “If we want it all and we want it now, could we gain even more if we waited? Would our allotment increase if we waited for the right moment, where everything falls into place and we don’t have to lift a finger? Would our share increase if we put in the required work, because we know what we’re due, and know how much less we’ll get if we accept before all the work is done? Is our only guaranteed share what’s currently in front of our faces, because although we may gain more by waiting or putting in work, it’s only a projection of what could if everything goes as planned? The fact that some of us want everything and sooner than now but yesterday, makes our fast food, social media, selfie stick culture more impersonal. Now not all of us buy in, some still have face to face conversations, wave at people walking down the street, sometimes even letters are written. The more we grow impersonal, the more self centered and narcisstic we become. This causes us to not only want everything we’re due, but also eveyrthing due everybody else as well. Once we realize we can’t have everything because we don’t deserve everything, nor would we want it if it showed up on our doorstep, we’ll see we don’t need everything to be happy, we simply need to feed our soul, which brings us the long term joy we truly crave. Wanting everything, deletes motivation to move forward. We may not get everything we want, but if we try sometimes, we just might find, we get what we need. Seeing eachother in ourselves, prevents us from wanting mroe than we’re due. Interpersonal communication, makes life brighter than any one person ever could.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “If racism is perpetuated by capitalism, and capitalism is fueled by racism, could either exist without the other? Would people ooze hate toward one another, for stealing the few crumbs they were allowed to have, if capitalism wasn’t hammering the fact that it’s the”other” stealing jobs and benefits, when really the elites are just trying to crank out a few more bucks? Is the illusion of control the magic elixir capitalism needs to survive, because keeping the people fighting eachother is the only sure fire way to prevent an uprising? When two sujective topics can only survive by feeding off each other, they can both be ended by killing one. Obviously the one we’d end is racism, no critically thinking human being would argue a healthy society needs hate of differences to survive. As far as capitalism goes, we don’t need to completely end it, the fact that we as private and unconnected residents can start, run and own a business that we can personally profit from isn’t a bad thing. However, if we insituted rules to level the playing field for all parties involved, rules that were binding and non negotiable, it would change the definition of capitalism, or create a whole new category. We stop hating each other, when we stop killing each other for token scraps. Hate of the other, is really hate of self. Racism might exist without capitalism, but only by people nostalgic for the past. Equality is the anitidote to racism, by changing capitalism’s goals.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “If finding balance is the key to life, is figuring out the difference between letting go and giving up one aspect of making that key? Has giving up ever brought us what we wanted, where some unseen force bestows what we desire through feeling pity? Has letting go ever been successful, where we want something very badly, and lay the groundwork for making it possible, but don’t obsess over the outcome? Is letting go and giving up the positive and negative side of the same concept? Letting go of outcomes is extremely hard, and can feel like we’re giving up on something we really want. Like we don’t care if it hapens, kind of like looking for love, but knowing we’re not going to find it until we stop looking. Once we realize letting go is not giving up, because although we’re not thinking of the end result, we’re putting in the work to acheive it, we’ll see our hard work might not always pay off, but it does allow us to accept success, because we’re thinking of how to get to the end, instead of wishing we were whisked there. Hard work can equal success, but only if we don’t obsess. If giving up is the easy way out, letting go is the hard way in. Life is a tightrope, which becomes wider the more knowledge we gain. We all want to find the key to life, and we will once we remember our key making abilities.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “When we sit for a meal with others, do we wait for others to be seated with their plate, before we dig into ours? Do we sneak bites before anybody sees, because although we want to share the meal, our starvation is our main concern? Do we start shoveling the second we have our plate, not caring if people have shown up or if anybody sees, because our needs are our only concern? Do we feel getting together and enjoying human interaction is more important than the meal itself, or do we feel the food and conversation must be shared in symbiosis, because if one is ignored in place of the other, it won’t harken back to something universal in human history, when it otherwise might have? Breaking bread might be a cliche, but it’s one of the most uplifitng and unifying ideas in our toolkit. Sharing food and conversation breaks down barriers and proves beyond a shadow of a doubt, no matter how many times we’ve looked in the mirror, we’re all the same deep down. All humans need food for physical health, and human interaction for emotional health. We can’t surive if we have either or, we aren’t robots. No matter our religion, culture, oreintation or environment, we can come to terms with others, if we come to terms with ourselves. Sharing a meal is like sharing our soul, we can’t start unless somebody else is doing the same. We can eat before everyone is seated, but we aren’t breaking bread. Food is a great unifyer, when our plates are equally full.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “Does change jingle in our pocket to remind us it’s there, jingling faster as we move forward? Does it jingle louder the higher value of the coin, making it’s possible actions more apparent even if they’re less in number? Does it jingle louder the lower its value, greatly enhancing the number of possible actions because the coins are greater in number? Does the value of change or number of coins guarantee its useful effect, or do we have to go out and actually spend it? Many big changes need to be made to ensure soicetal health, along with even more smaller changes to ensure its sustainability. Identifying what needs to be done, and issues that need addressing is the first step. If we view this first step as our destination however, we’ll continue to remain stagnant in our growth, as the rut we’ve settled into gets deeper and deeper. Once we realize identifying needed changes creates an escape ladder, but for those changes to physically manifest we must climb the ladder, we’ll see that talking makes walking possible, but walking makes talk meaningful. Change only has meaning, when we take action. The need for change can be loud, but becomes quieter when we get off our ass. Walking the walk starts with the first step, but doesn’t end there. Realization ushers ulitilization. Our heart and mind must be symbiotic, for our journey to be authentic.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “If laws are only as meaningful as their enforcement, are we inclined, and by some opinion required, to push our actions as far as we can until we’re stopped? Is passing laws without enforcement the ultimate government token response? Is it the most extreme example, of do as i say not as I do? Most of us could agree, there are some areas which need laws passed, and others that need to simply be enforced. Where we differ is in the details, which laws need to be enforced, and which need to be dismantled. Sometimes our thoughts can shift within this framework, depending on if our party is in power, or where we see the country headed. Once we realize selective law enforcement only intensifies when we reach elected office, we’ll see that if we see that if we want less corrupt politicians, we must stop allowing ourselves to be corrupted. The more blatantly politicians skirt the law, the more we should look in the mirror and ask why. Finding balance between freedom, justice, equality and reasonable law enforcement, is the skeleton key to life. If we have a problem with the other guy breaking the law, authenticity demands we speak up on our guy for the same reason. If democracy requires eternal vigilance to survive, so to does our soul.” 🙂
