From the mind of critic: “If we’re supposed to trust the process and let it work, how do we trust it if we don’t see the process? Do we believe the process only earns our trust, when things start going our way? Do we believe the process isn’t trying to earn our trust, but it’s us doing the trust earning? Do we get so caught up trying to define our actions, that we fail to act in a way that furthers the process, keeping us stagnant which make us question even more? Building trust in the process, begins with building trust in ourselves; which gets us thinking in a positive direction, and makes our actions more purposeful. If we begin our process without trust, we will endlessly question our actions; which ones to take or not take, and which will be most effective and give us the best results. Now thought does spurn action, but if our thoughts are on everything at once we will stay stagnant, causing our mind to spin out of control with every variable. Once we realize moving in a positive direction requires positive thought, we’ll see not trusting the process means not trusting ourselves; which means we must ask ourselves the tough questions if we actually want to progress. Trust is earned, by honestly looking in the mirror. Positive action doesn’t always equal positive results, but guarantees failure if we choose inaction. Finding balance in ourselves, is how we find it in the world. We are who we’ve been looking for, if we can honestly admit we’ve been looking.”

From the mind of critic: “Do plans matter, if they can be broken at the last second? Do rules matter, if the powerful can break them at any time? If our best isn’t good enough, how do we accomplish what we’ve always dreamed? If change is inevitable, is also stagnation because it inherently changes an always changing landscape, by keeping things the same? All of us have been told at some point to expect the unexpected, that because of the inherently chaotic nature of society and the world, anything can happen at any given moment. Making plans, following rules and normal expectations are meant to help us correlate the randomness in a way our brains can understand. We must remember that just because things change, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t strive toward our hopes and dreams, we should, we just need to be ready to adapt if we truly want what our soul sings about. Trying to make sense of the chaos isn’t a fool’s errand, it’s a human burden. Rules may or may not be followed, but if we don’t acknowledge them, we won’t know which are just and unjust. Our best is always good enough, our targets just may change form along the way. The unexpected becomes expected, when we realize we don’t know where our journey might lead, but move in the right direction when our soul lights the way.”

From the mind of critic: “If propaganda, hate and division only seem to get worse, does blinding ourselves fuel the fire? Do we internalize “it is what it is” as a coping mechanism, because if we internalized the words for what they actually were, we wouldn’t be able to function? Is that how the targets feel, unable to function because of internalization? Does ignoring what hurts us, give propaganda spewers what they always wanted? Does standing up for what’s right, and pointing out what’s wrong, give propaganda spewers what they’ve always dread? The darkness we’re currently and collectively experiencing, is part ignorance, part laziness and part fascination with “what aboutism”, but most importantly fear of the other. We can let fear run our lives, or we can use it to accomplish what we didn’t think possible. This fear can cause us to see only dark, when dark only holds power over us because we aren’t willing or able to see the infinite light that has always been there. If we want to stop fearing the other, we must stop fearing ourselves. Darkness isn’t an illusion it’s a veil, while light isn’t an illusion either it’s a window. Finding out how to cope is necessary for survival, but don’t we want to more than just survive? When we realize power is birthed from us, we see what’s needed to overcome the hate and division that’s holding our species back from evolving.”

From the mind of critic: “If the flower of hate needs sun, water and safety to survive, does love? Do hate and love just appear, because it’s bred into us from the moment we first interact with society? Do hate and love have to be carefully cultivated, because many factors have to come together for fruition to be achieved? Do we gain love by learning what hate is and vice versa, because it’s one more example of keeping a positive negative balance, specifically so we know what each concept consists of? Hate doesn’t fall out of the sky, just like love doesn’t, just like politicians don’t. The actions we take, which form from the thoughts we have, which appear from the experience we endure, are but an outcropping of our soul’s development. If we’re surrounded by hate and darkness, and are raised or indoctrinated to believe it’s truth, and all other ideas are false, then hate and dark will be espoused. The great thing is that love and light are espoused exactly the same way. We aren’t born with love or hate, we learn them. We can overcome our childhood, but only when we stop ignoring it. Hate will continue to flourish, until we use the weed killer of love. Hate doesn’t define us and love does, but we must choose to make that determination.”

From the mind of critic:     If we do what we can when there’s nothing we can do, how do we decode and decipher what we can do? Do we push our limits, going as hard as we can until our mind and body breaks down? Do we remain stagnant, thinking analytically and logically of all the possibilities so we can plan out every detail, but fail to act because all the work we’ve put in makes us feel like we already have? Do we find middle ground where we think and act accordingly, because all or nothing extreme thinking is what cause our mind to spin out in the first place? There is a reason acceptance is the final stage of grief, it takes the most inner work. Anger, denial and bargaining are hard to get past, but we must if we hope to move forward. Whether it’s physical or emotional pain we’re enduring, the best thing we can do for our soul is doing what we can. We mustn’t worry about the speed of success of others, for jealousy is the biggest factor in deleting hope from our soul, which makes our pain infinitely worse. Life is forever beautiful, we must simply choose to see it in whatever capacity we can. Feeling gratitude and not just knowing if it, reminds us pain in all forms is only temporary. Peace of mind is achieved, when we utilize honest effort. Doing something is always better than doing nothing, which cements how important self-kindness really is.”

From the mind of critic: “If the only constant in life is change, and we know it because the words have been droned into our heads since childhood, why are we suprised when it arrives? Why all the muss and fuss over something we knew was coming? Did we not prepare, and just thought we’d take things as they come? Did we over prepare, taking so much into account of how things will be, that we forgot how things are? Are we always caught off guard because no matter how much we over or under prepare, life has a funny way of throwing us a curveball the second we think we know what time it is? Trying to prepoare for the inevitable change in life, is like preparing to be on Jeopardy. There are some known categories and subjects that have covered a lot in various ways, but the subject matter could literally be anything, and probably will be because somebody, somthing or nothing upstairs wants us to prove we’re worthy through our humilty and passion. Once we realize being open to opportunities, putting in the work, and understanding we’ll never really know what’s going to happen, is how we prepare for inevitable change by expecting the unexpected, we’ll see change can always seem scary because it’s different, but becomes less so when we stop sabotaging ourselves, and start loving ourselves by making sure we truly know we’re worthy. Life is constantly changing, that change becomes brighter when we allow ourselves to see the light. Over or under preparing isn’t the answer, being mindful is. Curveballs can be tricky, but so can a batter who knows it’s coming. Perception is the only difference between change that is scary, and opportunity.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “If we’re towing a big camper trailer, but have to turn around in a space we might not think big enough at first glance, how do we do we do it? Do we pull forward and crank the wheel as hard as we can, hoping to not jacknife? Do we pull past and then back up, remembering if we want to go one way, we have to turn the wheel the opposite? Do we throw up our hands and just ask our neighbor, knowng their skills are much better than ours? Does our confusion come from this being one of the only acts in life, where to get a desired result, we havre to do the opposite? Turning around a big vehicle, let alone a camper or 5th wheel is hard, but gets easier with practice. Like many things in life, at first glance they can seem extremely scary, but become less so when our skills grow. They say the only way past is through, which means if we want to overcome our many challenges and roadblocks, whether they were personally placed or set by an outside source, we must decrease our turnaround time. We do that by consciously looking at the situation, how it affects the totality of or lives, and what we can personally do to allieviate our own suffering. Bad, terrible and awful things will happen to us, part and parcel of the collective human experience. We can’t always change these situations, but we can lessen our time from oh no, to oh well. We do that through unique measures according to our character and life experience, but it always starts with us being kind to ourselves. Self reliance doesn’t mean isolation, it means loving our soul. Trailers might be hard to turn around, but become harder if we sit idle. Impressions aren’t everything, our mindfulness is. Roadblocks dissipate, when we realize they’re temporary.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “If humility is considered a virtue while pride a deadly sin, can pride start as a virtue, while humility transforms into a deadly sin? If self love is a virtue and where pride begins, does it only become a deadly sin when we don’t spread that self love to others? If keeping our ego in check before it spawns narcissism is why humility is a virtue, can it devolve into self sabotage which prevents all progress by blocking iopportunities, thereby becoming a deadly sin? Is humility balanced with pride one of the first steps in our mental, physical, spiritual and intellectual development, and only mutates our character into a self sabotaging doormat or narcisstic know it all, if we think the first step is the end all be all, and either refuse or ignore the next steps? Being humble while having pride in ourselves is never a bad thing, because it opens us up to the world’s opportunities, while erecting a filter that helps us discard everything meant to tear us down, while keeping everything that builds us up. However like most things in life, we run into problems when we take it to the extreme, because it changes the concepts original meaning. Being humble by believing we’re not better than anybody else, is a virtue. Believing we’re worthless because everybody is better than us, is a sin. Being prideful by believing in ourselves and knowing who we are, what we want, and where we want to go is a virtue. Believing we know everything, because our character is an infallible and omnipotent example of the perfect human specimen, is a sin. Once we realize most things in life start as virtues, but devolve into sins by our actions and perspectives, we’ll see that everything has a good and bad side, but finding the balance point in the middle is how we evolve, because we know we’re not perfect, but could make better choices from time to time. Virtues become sins, when we only think of ourselves. Sins stay as virtues, when we think of others. None of us are 100% virtuous or sinful, but our critical thought or lack there of can swing us in either direction. Defintions evolve, just like we do as life experience is gained.”

From the mind of critic: “If life is a series of moments, do our perceptions of them determine whether we’re getting closer to them, or being teased with something we’re never going to get? Can glimpses of what we truly want, provide clues on how, what, when and where to recieve? Can those same glimpses also making us believe we’re finnaly recieving what we’ve been asking for, and working toward for the last 20 years, only to leave us empty handed when the glimpse ends? Can we truly control our destiny when it involves steps we ca’t possibly control, or is making ourselves the best human we can be, through being open, and putting the work in by constantly and succintly our wants out tot he universe, the best we can hope for? Looking for love anbd success at our passion is hard enough, without percieving through our self sabotage that we’ll never recieve what we want. Now none of us are perfect, and as we grow older and haven’t found what we’re looking for, lonliness can color our judgement of what we feel is coming down the line. Once we realize that not only is nothing in life guaranteed, and we can’t always make things happen, but can increase our odds by ejecting always and never out of our vocabulary, and injecting not yet in, we’ll see even if we haven’t recieved what we truly want and dream, but still want to, we stay open by not telling ourselves that we haven’t recieved something, but haven’t recieved it, yet. Whether we consider life a series of moments or glimpses, we guarantee failure by believing we’re not worthy. True love may be elusive, but self-love is inherant. We must vocalize our wants to recieve our dreams. Lonliness can tear us down, or remind of it’s instant dissappearance, we simply must ask ourselves if we still want what our soul yearns for.” 🙂

From the mind of critic: “When the margins shrink and the middle becomes bigger, is it a sign of progress? When the margins widen and the middle shrinks, is it a sign of regress? Do we not pay attention to these fluctuations, because we’re cemented in survival mode, or do we pay attention, but feel powerless because we’re cemented in survival mode? Is the concept of survival used as a means of control by the power structure, so the people blame each other instead of those who poured the concrete? The illusion of power has been utilized, ever since humans started seeing themselves as better than those who had less. This has been so ingrained in our culture, that many of us believe it’s the way it has always been, and always will be. What we tend to forget, is those of us who make up the controlled, vastly outnumber the controllers. Even if we haven’t forgotten, we’ve been told for millenia, that one person can’t change the world. While this is partially true, it’s mostly untrue because many “one persons” can. We only believe we can’t change the world, because we’ve been told other people in our position are to blame, by virtue of them taking what little we have for themselves, so they don’t have to put in the work. Once we realize it’s this mentality that fuels the power structure, by feeding our ignorance of it’s illusion, we’ll see the only reason we can’t unite and rise up against our collective oppressors, is because we’re allowing our few differences to overrule, outweigh and completely fog over our commonalities. Margins shrink when our minds grow, and vice versa. Change is inevitable, but humanity isn’t unless we allow it. Survival mode can make us more human, once we realize it isn’t all there is. The illusion of power is debunked, when we look in the mirror and see each other.” 🙂
