From the mind of critic:    “If we don’t feel like walking through a door which presents itself, does that door walk by us? Opportunities aren’t constant, we are if we take advantage of them.”

From the mind of critic:                      “If we think no group of people believes monolithically, do we think a country does? Does everybody who lives within a country’s boundaries, believe the country should go in the same direction, while having the goal and values? If hating a government but loving a people, is a way we can all unite around greedy politicians taking everything they can, how come admitting there are some good ones, while admitting all others want to degrade, persecute and ethnically cleanse, isn’t considering hating a people? Does playing into old stereotypes actually solve the battle, skirmish or disagreement we’re getting so upset about, or does it cement everything further? Some solutions are easy but hard at. Appealing to another’s humanity, truly empathizing with the human need to protect the self and family, while acknowledging, tolerating and loving the fact that all humans are doing the same, would make great strides toward peace in a millennia long conflict. Come on Israel and Palestine, you have nothing to lose, and a humanistic future through truth accountability to gain.” 😊

From the mind of critic:            “If we’ve ever asked ourselves why the caged bird sings, have we ever asked why the uncaged bird doesn’t? Do we not wonder why when somebody has freedom of movement and choice, they decide not to let their spirit shine, because neither do we? Is this because we don’t believe in ourselves enough to let our true voice and thoughts flow, because our freedoms have allowed self-sabotage to control us? Do we have to be in a cage, to finally let go of the self-hate, in favor of bright, loving and prophetic fire that always has and always will burn within our soul, no matter how long we’ve ignored it? The long answer is no, the real long answer is fuck no. If we follow our heart, love our fellow humans as ourselves, and let humanism, truth and accountability drive our actions, we won’t have to be locked din a cage to allow our soul to sing, because it will be just something we do naturally.” 😊

from the mind of critic – 3/29/19

From the mind of critic:              “If the secret to life is different for everybody, but the concept is the same, can we come together? If what makes us different makes us the same, can we come together when we realize we’re all different versions of the same thing? If we’re all unique snowflakes, and our uniqueness must standout amongst all others who are doing the same, how can we come together if we keep purposely highlighting our division? We have a lot of work to do, if we want “united we stand, divided we fall” to be more than a Pink Floyd lyric. However, they say all good things come to those who wait. Well we’ve waited long enough, now is the time for action. Do we want actual democracy where we all have a say, or a fascist dictatorship disguised as democracy? I’m not simply talking about the orange one, but he is a symptom of the deeper disease we’ve allowed to metastasize for the last millennia. Fear not, for we will overcome our current struggles, lay down old divisions, and stop hating others because we’d be hating ourselves. Why? Because a new day is not on the horizon, it is now, today, right now. We just have to step into it.” 😊

From the mind of critic:           “If time is money, but time is only real because we put our faith in it, is money the same? If both time and money aren’t imaginary, do we convince ourselves they are? They say the sign of true riches is valuing time over money, but gratitude is the only way to tell the difference. Time is a gift, money isn’t.” 😊

From the mind of critic:            “If life keeps pushing us from to here to there to everywhere, but we never lose who we are because it’s imprinted on our soul, are we ever really lost? Does the confusion that swirls, cause us to realize who we are, because who we are is the constant while everything else evolves, mutates or completely changes form? Is that person which is revealed, the same who started this journey, or have things changed along the way in the pursuit of adaptation? We’re constantly living, experiencing, loving and learning. Just as humans themselves are different while still being the same, who we are is different too, while also staying the same at its root. This is simply because what makes us human, and feel love, empathy and caring, while demanding justice never disappears from when we go from young liberal to old conservative, or rabble rouser to conformer, because even as our opinions twist and shape, the humanity within us never does. Oh, we may silence it, hamper it, make it so it can never escape or utter a word, but it’s still there to be awoken at any moment. When chaotic confusion abounds is a good time to remember this, but is difficult when we’re angry about where life has dropped us off. The good thing is, and what should constantly motivate us, is that love and humanity is simply waiting for us to say the word, and they’ll re-insert themselves into our daily routine. What are we waiting for? We have nothing to lose, and everything to gain.” 😊

From the mind of critic:          “Is there a way to avoid all the heartache, heartbreak, adversity, persecution, racism, hate, darkness and ugliness which confronts us, slaps us in the face, and knocks us down as we live out our lives as human beings, who try to make a living, take care of our families, have friends, be fulfilled, make a mark and be remembered? The short answer is no, the longer answer is hell no!!! If we can’t ignore it, how do we handle it, so we don’t allow its evil forces to penetrate the goodness that is our soul? We love ourselves by realizing it’s not easy to love ourselves, and if it’s not easy for us, we also realize it’s not easy for others either. Truly loving ourselves is egoless, because ego doesn’t involve love, it disguises ignorance as love. We love ourselves, by loving others, and vice versa. We help each other realize we really are the same when the fog burns off, and humanism, truth and accountability are all that remains, specifically because we all FINALLY understand what love really means, and not only is the key to our species collective survival, but also our positive and conscious evolution.” 😊

From the mind of critic:                “If we had our rights and dignities stripped for generations, but once we did finally gain them, we subjugated and persecuted others just as we once were, did we really learn anything? Are we so eager to get our humanity back, that once we do gain control over our own destiny, we overcompensate because we’re so worried about slipping backward, that we view any dissent as an attack on sovereignty, and completely ignore our own teachings of love, justice and unity of the world’s peoples? By all our over compensating, are we setting the groundwork for re-establishing the original human vulgarity, which caused us to be persecuted and displaces for thousands of years? Is it not us the people who are driving this truck back to history town, but the increasingly right-wing and radical governments who only give a shit about nationalism, by way of subjugating brown people? Hate and ugliness are in such massive abundance these days, it’s no wonder so many of us live in defense mode. Israel and Palestine exist on a landmass that equates to the size of New Jersey, let us not forget that. And you can’t tell me the people from North Jersey, are really that different from the people from South Jersey, but I digress. The increasingly authoritarian actions used are very alarming. Bulldozing someone’s home for committing a crime, killing 1000 to 1 in every attack, and taking away rights at every turn is more than a bit much, it’s the witches brew pot that hate, violence and destruction undoubtedly spill out of. Like JFK quoted MLK, when peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable, we must spread peace and justice through understanding before it all blows up in our faces. Which we can prevent, but which will take much work. We have the capacity to see others in ourselves, we simply must allow ourselves the humanity to do so.” 😊

From the mind of critic:                         “If laughter is the best medicine, is anger the worst disease? If laughing at a joke with friends, family or complete strangers can change our outlook from fuck the world, to a yearning to cherish it, can anger at being screwed over, cut off on the road or others not being better humans, change our outlook from lets love one another, to I want to squeeze every bit of goodness out of you? Do perceptions of what’s going on vary as much as cracker types in the grocery store, which can change on a whim, or even the hint of something coming down the road? Do we have as much of an effect on others, as they do on us? Anger is a normal human emotion, one that must be admitted and analyzed for us to evolve. Although getting mad can initially be a motivating factor to move us in the right direction, critically thinking about the actions we take makes whatever we do not only as purposeful as possible, it helps us avoid serious regret. None of us are perfect, and I don’t think any of us would want to be even if we had the chance. Laughter can bring us up, while anger can bring us down, but if we don’t think about why, we’re likely to be led down a road we never would have chosen otherwise. Clear thoughts are impossible, when anger fogs us over. Laughter fixes what ails us, because it forces our outlook to be positive. As our perceptions change, so to must our understanding. We start going in the right direction, when we stop allowing things to pull us in the wrong one.” 😊
