From the mind of critic: “If we sit and wait for darkness to lighten, do we also wait for lightness to darken? If we wait for something to go from bad to good, does some part of us know the waiting goes both ways because of life’s balance? Do we not think about either side, but are simply living our lives and trying to make things better, because people who sit and wait will always be doing just that, waiting? Sometimes we need to wait, sometimes we need to work, and sometimes we even need to play. All of life’s situations and infinitely changing landscape call for different actions and reactions. How do we know when to do what? Being conscious and mindful of what’s in front of us, will alert as to what we need to do now. Sometimes we need to wait on somebody else, sometimes we need to work to make something happen, and sometimes we need to play because of all the working and waiting we’ve done. The key as always is balance, not doing any one thing too much. If we do, we’ll always wait for good things to end as well as bad, because we’ve ceded control, and admitted our own helplessness. Once we realize life isn’t always what it seems, we’ll see that what “take everything on a case by case basis” really means, is that life might be dark, light or stormy, which causes us to spin out over what to do; we slow that spin by not always waiting for something to happen, or working to make it happen, but paying attention so we know what the correct course of action should be. Darkness will lighten, when it’s ready. Taking action, means knowing when not to act. Life doesn’t have a silver bullet, and ours gets much happier when we stop looking for one. Living in the present, prevents the past or the future from controlling us.” 😊

From the mind of critic: “When progress has been made, and benefits of that progress begin to show, but then progress abruptly moves backward, do we freak out thinking all hope is lost? Does the confidence we built that we could accomplish something, float away when a roadblock is erected not of our own making? Does our critical thinking melt from the heat of our physical and/or emotional pain? Do we give up hope, or do we remember why we tried succeeding in the first place, which reminds us why we need to keep going? There are times in our lives when things don’t always go as planned, or even in a direction which doesn’t cause us pain. These times are tough, like the whole world is fighting against us taking one step forward, while simultaneously pushing us two steps back. Surrounding ourselves with good people, taking care of our body by eating right and sleeping enough, and taking care of our mind by keeping it active, are all tools we must utilize to keep our self-sabotage at bay. However, sometimes we do all that, and stuff still trends backward. Once we realize life always has been and always will be a roller coaster with ups, downs and loop-de-loops, we’ll see that shit isn’t always going to happen the way we want, but the more we keep pushing toward our goals and dreams, because we remember it’s the only thing that really matters, the less these low times will control us, specifically because we know they’re temporary. Life is like ripping off a Band-Aid, the pain is short lived. Our turnaround time shortens, when our self-love grows. Pain hurts, but only a fraction as much as not trying. Giving up hope is like giving up oxygen, we couldn’t survive. Having a loving and caring inner circle, creates a much stronger outer circle. Appealing to our better angels works, when we start living within our better selves. If our priority is love, it will always be our copilot.” 😊

From the mind of critic: “If we have plans to do something, but our body doesn’t allow us, do we become pissed at the world? If these plans are to work our passion in a way we’ve been preparing for all our lives, and which will propel us forward, but when we finally commence, pain levels whether physical and/or emotional, prevent us from sitting long enough to do what we need to do, do we just say fuck it, and give up on our passion? Giving up is not an option, it’ll make us feel worse than we already do. So we push on, and see what work we can do, while we wait to work our passion like previously planned. We might make another go at it, but fail again. Do we give up? We just have to ask ourselves, is this really our passion? Does simply the thought of doing it ignite our souls fire, which informs our mind we’re headed in the right direction? If the answer is yes, then we’ve found it, and must endure. If the answer is no, we must still endure until we do find it. Our souls fire will light the way as long as we need, self-kindness and honestly doing what we can will keep the fire lit. Plans might change, but where we ultimately want to go doesn’t. Gratitude will help us push through, because it shows us how light filled the world really is.” 😊

From the mind of critic: “If the fog gets worse with each festering, and metastasizing political pissing contest, do we realize we‘re the ones who not only created it, but allowed it thrive? Has the illusion of power grown so strong, that we not only deny its existence, but deny our hand in creating and propagating it? Does this illusion of power create the fog which clears enemies, holds power and then expands, or do we create foggy illusions amongst ourselves, neighbors, friends, families, coworkers, acquaintances and non-acquaintances alike, every time we try to tear somebody or something down, without building them up? If we don’t feel, think about, wonder, ponder or even consider our interactions with each other, how can we expect our politicians to, especially with ever expanding purse strings, and string pullers making us seem less important and like we have no power, specifically because we believe we have no power? How do we get power back which never left, but went dormant from us ignoring, and not propagating? We stop ignoring, we stand up and speak out and keep coming with increasing numbers, courage and stamina, until we take back what’s ours; when I mean ours, I mean humans’. If we treated each other more like them, maybe we’d have politicians more like them. No more fog, no more propagandistic rhetoric meant to dull the masses into feeling powerless. No more mindless infighting which ignores the root of the problem, because we’ve heard “many people say”, the plant doesn’t have roots. I’m not bringing up the little whiny orange bitch, because he’s not the problem, only the result. We’re the problem by even allowing him as a possibility, because we’ve kicked the can down the road for so long, we don’t realize we have no feet to stand on anymore. However, we’re also the solution. We can fix most things by simply being kind to ourselves, which will make us act with kindness to others, and so on. Once we make that such a part of our routine, we do it unconsciously, we’ll see that what makes us different, is what makes us the same. And that’s when love, respect and truth will follow, not to create a perfect non-existent world, but one much better than the one we have now. We need to be fog lights for not only each other, but for ourselves. We are the power, because without us there is no power, only lies and deceit. Standing up, makes us human. Love really is all we need, when we understand what that truly entails.” 😊

From the mind of critic: “If we’re asked why we believe something, or why we committed an act we did, and all we utter are platitudes, hearsay, and debunked information that crumbles under even the minutest evidential inquiry, do we realize we’ve been fed a lie? Is even the possibility of this being a lie, so overwhelming because we’ve built our lives within it, not to mention honed our views, that we couldn’t take the slightest inkling of it not being true, because our whole world would implode? Do we glom onto certain ideas because we feel less than and want to belong to something, not because we actually believe the rhetoric? Do we actually believe thoughts and prayers do a damn thing after a massacre is committed, by somebody who might not have grown up a racist and sadistic asshole, but became one because they felt abandoned by society, therefore glommed onto and bullshit they were told? Let me first say thoughts and prayer aren’t a bad thing, in fact they’re an attempt to spread a little humanity in a dark world. However, when words aren’t followed up by any concrete action to prevent terrible tragedies from happening again, they ring 100% hollow, and become detrimental. My heart goes out to Christchurch, as it does to the worshippers simply enjoying Friday prayers with their community, like their religion of peace demands. But that doesn’t mean it stops there. I will everyday until the day I die, work to destroy the hate that created a situation where somebody felt like their only escape from an invasion, they were specifically force-fed specifically because of their gullibility, was to shoot innocent people in their house of worship. Pointing out racist acts when they happen should continue, maybe it will make racists afraid to come out in the open again. However, if we keep treating the symptoms, (which I argue have been very inadequately done) instead of the disease, it will not only delete the last vestiges of humanity our world has left, but the last bits our soul contains as well. If we believe in hate, we really hate ourselves. Continuing to treat symptoms, allows the disease to metastasize. Love, breaks the cycle of hate. We don’t fix the future by recreating and repeating the past, we do it by being good to each other, right, now!!!” 😊

Pursuing options that aren’t really options, isn’t really an option. The present, the here and now is the only thing that’s real. Gratitude, self-kindness and love for our fellow human being, ensures we never forget.” 😊
