From the mind of critic:    “If we always want what somebody else has, do other people want what we have? Would the things we feel inadequate for not having, be more than adequate, and even great for somebody else? Do these people look at us like the grass is greener on our side of the fence, while we look at them like its greener on theirs? Does this misplaced jealousy arise, because the low self esteem we feel due to them, and vice versa, prevents us from feeling the true worth others see in us, but which we’re unable to see in ourselves? Looking around and seeing all the happy faces can make us feel less then, until we realize others’ look at us the same way. Is that the key to loving each other, so we can unite and create heaven on earth now, not waiting until some arbitrary point down the road? Maybe we need to realize we’re all on this boat together, and the more we think we’re different, the more it proves we’re the same. Loneliness and self-hate can create such a false sense of how great everyone else has it, when it’s really about 50 50. We must remember life can be as beautiful or ugly as we want, and so can our views of ourselves. Viewing ourselves honestly, includes viewing others honestly. Our perceptions create rose colored glasses, only if we aren’t able to throw them off once in a while. Throwing off our oppressors, first and foremost means loving the hell our of ourselves, specifically so we can love the hell out of others, not in spite of them.”

From the mind of critic:            “If the truth shall set us free, is that truth for all of us? Will freedom not spring from truth, if we committed a crime? What if we committed some unspeakable act that was an accident, but don’t come clean, because our life would end as we know it? What if a grieving mother unites a community to find the perpetrator, will we give our freedom up so a family and community can have closure, and we can be held accountable? Do we come forward, if racially ingrained issues that have plagued our species for millennia, are thought to be the culprit? Does a certain individual perfectly fit the pre judged description, by reinforcing our biases; when really it was us over here, where we don’t fit the description, or the ingrained white supremacist cultural system, but are just a normal person who could be a friend of the victim, and could’ve been standing by the grieving mother the whole time? Will we forever jump to conclusions, or will we investigate first? All of us deserve justice, some of us even deserve to be brought to justice. There’s a huge problem when any kid has their future stolen, snatched before they have a chance to bloom. What makes matters worse, is when blame is placed too quickly. I want justice for Josiah just like anybody, but blaming Kyle Zoellner without physical evidence or witnesses, so it can fit into a pre packaged idea of racial violence, lets the real killer get off scot free. You know who you are, and you’ve been watching this whole shit show, and laughing that the ongoing investigation isn’t pointing anywhere in your direction. Do you sadistically enjoy tearing apart a family, not to mention an entire community, because you saw somebody fighting your friend, pulled a knife to stab them, but stabbed your friend instead, all because you were high on coke? This makes actual racial violence take a back seat. The actual racial violence, that is actually happening right now, will now have attention stolen, because you don’t want to take responsibility. Truth, actual truth, the black and white stuff which makes us human, will only set us free, when we not only look in the mirror, but realize we might not like what we see staring back.” 😊

From the mind of critic:     “If what we have is gone, and didn’t realize its value until it was, how do we flip that equation? How do we value what we have, not only while its in our possession, but before we receive it, so we’re fully prepared when it does? If preparation helps, but makes everything so impersonal because we’re simply going through the motions, how do we hammer home authenticity, so we know what we have when we dream it, think it, when it arrives, and when we live in it, basking in its beautiful truth and peace of mind? We love ourselves, we love others as ourselves, and we love the universe. If done simultaneously by all of us, we wouldn’t have to worry about getting to heaven after we die, we’ll have created it here and now.”

From the mind of critic:     “If our long and exhaustive search for something we really want, hasn’t turned up the object of our desire, do we immediately pounce on the slightest clue that what we want has arrived? Do we start analyzing and reanalyzing the minutest details of the clue, trying to prove to ourselves we’ve found what we’re looking for? Does this over analyzation blind us to the fact that when we only get 10% of a picture, we only get 10% of an idea? Does loneliness fog our critical thought, that just because a few personality traits link up, doesn’t mean the rest will? Is dying alone one of our biggest fears, or is it not experiencing the faux happiness others have, because we’ve convinced ourselves it’s not faux? Love has been, can be and is a mother fucker. When we have it, we wish it was better. When we don’t have it, we dream of it every waking moment. Some of us have different fates, where major life events happen either too quickly, or not quickly enough. Part of this insecurity, is desiring love for so long that we’ve forgotten what love is, but are so ready for it, we believe one or two aspects describe the whole concept. Once we realize that love is meant for all of us, by definitional virtue of being human, we’ll see it might take a fuck of a long time to find us, so long we begin to question its very existence, but it will find us; if we can honestly admit we want it in its realest form. Loneliness is hard, but self-hatred will get us fucking nowhere. Are we really ready to find what we’re looking for? Love, its either soul ripping or soul nurturing. Nature, it’s directly linked to how much we value ourselves. Love will find all of us, if we’re open when it arrives, at least I hope so.”

From the mind of critic:        “If we call people racists because they ignorantly categorize and stereotype, do we realize when we categorize and stereotype? Do we always think through our statements about others, and make sure they’re accurate? Do we convince ourselves at any point that these statements are accurate, but fail to see the generalizations we utilize? Is there ever any group who thinks all one way or all another, or do we simply believe people we don’t know think monolithically, because we’re too ignorant to realize we don’t know every person in the world? When we don’t know somebody, sometimes we make assumptions about who, what, where, why and how this person said something, thinking one comment covers the entire breadth of who they are. These assumptions morph and mutate when left unchecked, becoming ugly and hate filled darkness, a philosophy we espoused dislike for when used on us. Now some people do commit hateful acts of violence, specifically based on them believing certain people, shouldn’t have certain rights. We should definitely do what we can, to stop these instances when we can. However, if we don’t want to fall into the same trap, we must look at ourselves as human, and realize that sometimes people we disagree with aren’t Nazis, racists and hatemongers, they’re just people with whom we disagree. Of course, unless we objectively and humanely investigate, we’ll never know either way.”

From the mind of critic:          “If some of us have voted against our own issues for so long, that we constantly fall for crocodile tears with silver tongues, do we even realize the nature of the current argument? Do we fail to hear the call for more civility, because all we know is incivility? How do we compete against a world that wants to tear us down, when we allow it to happen by hating the other side that much? Have we been lied to so often and for so long, that we don’t believe anybody anymore, so we cling to our guns and religion because we feel it’s all we have left? What do we do, when it appears there’s nothing we can do, because we might not have invented the fog machines, but we sure plugged them in? Getting out of our own way, looking in the mirror and seeing others in ourselves is how we solve most problems, by utilizing truth, humanism and accountability. We don’t want to fight the same battles over and over, do we? If we want to live in hell, that’s fine, we have every right to. But we shouldn’t prevent others from creating heaven for all of us, now, on earth, not in some imaginary time or location. We just need to ask ourselves, are we the devil, or do we just like living with the characteristics?”

From the mind of critic:        “If all that’s left when the fog burns off is personal relationships, what are we doing today to ensure we aren’t standing alone when that time comes? Are we a good person to those around us, treating them with the love, dignity, and respect they deserve? Do we allow others to express themselves without condescension, pretentiousness or judgement from us? Do they see not only the humanity we exude, but the tendrils of their own humanity blanketing the world, specifically because we took the time with them? Is the fog itself part of the illusion, where we start sharing, loving and living together, without having to wait for something imaginary to disappear so it can usher authenticity? The question is, can we love each other and treat each other as we should be treating ourselves? We can, once we realize the most important personal relationship, is between us and our soul. Once we do, the roadblocks to keep us divided, wouldn’t even be a blip on the radar, because the fog will never have existed.”

From the mind of critic:     “If we can’t help but yell when expressing our displeasure with those we disagree with, then are we stooping to their level by attempting to drown them out? Are we blowing things out of proportion by launching into a loud and boisterous diatribe, about the historical underpinnings behind supremacy, slavery and ethnic cleansing, thinking this person is living out the ugliest and darkest part of humanity, when really, they just wanted to give us a hug and say they appreciated us? Are there real incidents of racial tensions, harassment, persecution, hatred and violence that take place, which get overshadowed when somebody’s claims aren’t authentic? Have we as a society become so sensitive, that we blow up at anything deemed a slight? Isn’t that what the moneychangers need to continue the greatest hoax in American history, weaving the illusion of their power? We have many, many generational issues of hate, supremacy and institutionalized racism we must simply not just get over, but create the foundation where people can come together. If somebody is yelling in great detail why and how exactly we’re wrong, they’re just as likely to not listen to us, as we are to not listen to them. Why do we think yelling, will get others to budge one inch from the darkness that has been chiseled for a millennium? Unless that’s it, we don’t care about them coming around. We’re bitching simply to bitch, putting a useless exercise into the universe, that not only plays right into these racists’ cycle, but puts up a brick wall between us, and the progress filled, peaceful future, where humans unite around ideas of truth, humanism and accountability. Once we realize the louder the voice, the more closed the mind, we’ll see talking, conversating and expressing to others we disagree with, is how we unite around an idea we all agree with; being human and loving each other. Extremists fear the other side, humans welcome dialogue. Volume doesn’t translate to clarity, it adds to the fog. We’re all human, whether we choose to see it or not. By drowning out the other side, we’re drowning out ourselves. Yelling works, if we don’t want to change anything. Lovingly explaining, works, if we do.”

From the mind of critic:      “When compromise is a dirty word, is forward progress also a dirty word? Do we believe compromise consists of people coming to our side, cause anything short of that is considered an act of war? Do we know the natural give and take of human interaction is uncomfortable, uneasy, unnatural, unwieldy, unnerving, and unabated, otherwise known as conscious evolution? If we want to move forward, and not delve into division so much, we end up with mutually assured destruction as the only possible solution, we simply must love each other as ourselves. If we don’t love ourselves, we know where our journey must start.”

From the mind of critic:   “If our unity hinges on us loving each other as ourselves, do generationally ingrained issues keep repeating, because we don’t love ourselves? Do we hate others because we hate ourselves? Do we nitpick the imperfections of those within our movement for not having enough confidence, being too militant, not being militant enough, and putting their energy here, when we think they should really be putting it over there? Are we so mixed up, that we figure we’d put others down, for how we really feel inside? Do we put others down for not stepping outside of themselves, because we’ve never stepped outside of ourselves? There’s an easy fix for that, we open the front door, walk out and know, not pretend that we don’t know everything. Once we do, knowledge and freedom like MLK, will roll down like waters.”
