from the mind of critic-2/16/19

From the mind of critic:    “If we keep putting ourselves out there for something we really want, and it keeps not working in varying, but similar and always unique iterations, do we keep trying to grasp it? Do we know deep in our soul this isn’t something that’ll complete us, but something that’ll add, which is motivation to keep striving, hoping and strategizing not so we can achieve, but so we can be graced with the presence and company of? After the myriad of ways it hasn’t happened or hasn’t worked out, are we lying to ourselves by believing that after all the trial and error, which has brought nothing but heartache, that somehow, some way, some day it will happen? Do we continue learning lessons, so we actually refine what we’re actually working for? Do we know that after all the heartache, we still want this, so we must keep looking for the betterment of our soul, and the longevity of our life? Love can be a motherfucker, it can bring us up and it can bring us down. You’ve heard the tune a million times, so I wont boor you with it here. All I’ll say is that we all want it, we all need it. The sooner we all admit that, the sooner seemingly impossible to solve generational issues, will spring up solutions. Sometimes loneliness does enter the equation, throwing everything off by fogging over conscious decision making. This is when we have to love ourselves even more. Even if we see everybody around us in happy situations, they aren’t always, and it might just be our loneliness telling us that. Love is what binds us, and what fuels us, may we all find our fill up station.” ?

from the mind of critic-2/15/19

From the mind of critic:     “When the whole world seems dark, how do we make our light pierce through? How do we take despair and desperation, and make our soul shine? Just like any big project which yields big rewards, it’s all about trial and error. We try until we succeed, because what else are we going to do, give up? Do we still want to achieve our dreams? Are we willing to put the work in, while enjoying life and evolving into an even better human being? If the answer is yes, truly yes, then moving forward with that realization, and bringing it into practice and our routine, is exactly how we make our soul shine. Like some shoe company said once, just do it.” ?

from the mind of critic-2/14/19

From the mind of critic:       “If we get questioned after personally enduring a great tragedy, and espouse the same falsities and generalizations without evidence back up, just like we did before the tragedy, should we be asked to back up our views? Is the questioner intimidated by the tragedy, wanting to throw softballs with kid gloves? Are they afraid we’ll crumble under real scrutiny, the same that would be afforded anybody else at any other time? Are they simply trying to be human, knowing we’re going through a very intense time, causing us to overstate or misstate facts, and questioning that, is like questioning our coping mechanisms? Has this event and being endlessly questioned about it afterward, cause us to not grow, evolve and understand, but to dig in because we feel it’s all we have left, after everything else was taken away? The way we deal with tragedy, is as unique as snowflakes. We all have different coping mechanisms, built up over time through our perception of our life experiences. Who is to say how we might react in the aftermath? However, if information is to be disseminated to the public, in a vital to democracy and constitutionally protected way, the same way we defend the 2nd amendment’s importance, than during an interview on the one year anniversary of one of the worst mass shootings this country has ever seen, and we’re asked if our views have changed since we had good friends killed, and we reply no they’ve gotten stronger, that we need the 2nd amendment in case of a tyrannical government, and it getting taken away is how government starts its enslavement of the people, should there be a follow up? Like, who is specifically talking about taking the 2nd amendment away? Do you correlate any regulations with taking the 2nd amendment away? If we answer yes, then we are already sop far down the rabbit hole, that reasonable questions wouldn’t even matter. People need to be questioned, period. Going through tragedy doesn’t give us free reign to use the same false language and fear, the money-changers used to cause the tragedy in the first place. Going through tragedy, doesn’t give us a free pass to be ignorant of history. If a lifetime of chiseling falsities causes shootings, then uncomfortable truth after uncomfortable truth is needed to stop them. The public has the right to know if what they’re being fed is bullshit. Evolution is only possible within truth.” ?

From the mind of critic:      “When clouds clear to make room for the sun, how do we ensure we absorb the light? Besides opening our mind and heart through our soul, we love our brothers and sisters like ourselves. If we’ve forgotten how to do that, we can start back anytime; like riding a bike. Loving ourselves, I mean truly loving ourselves is how we get the clouds to clear.” ?

from the mind of critic-2/12/19

From the mind of critic:      “Do we meet the new boss who is the same as the old boss, specifically because we took the easy way out? Did we refuse to do the hard work required to upset, rebuild and reorganize the system, which keeps creating old bosses? Have we so ingrained “it is what it is”, that we just accept things are shitty, are never going to better and may get worse? Do we resign ourselves to complaining about or arguing issues to people whom know even less than us, because it makes us feel smart and like we’re doing something, when it actually makes stuff worse, because of a false sense of progress? Apathy and complacency are big reasons many of us feel helpless to make major change, because we feel it wouldn’t do any good. Have we actually tried, have we gotten off our ass, thrown off the warm cocoon of our detrimental routine, and stood up for what we profess to support? Have we gone out and changed the world, through unity, humanity, and accountability, not only proving to everyone that one person can change the world, but also proving it to ourselves? Lots of introspection needs to happen, before we feel confident enough to move forward. It’ll be hard work, I’m not going to lie, but the rewards aren’t beyond our wildest dreams, they are our dreams. All those generational issues we never seem to be able to fix, will start being alleviated because not only do we see others in ourselves because they are us, but because we did the harder half of something, that’s easier said than done. We will elect politicians who represent us, when we start accurately representing ourselves. New bosses stop being old bosses, when we start taking responsibility. If “it is what it is “was actually like it is, things would never change. Letting others think for us is who we got into this mess, thinking for ourselves is how we get out.” ?

from the mind of critic-2/11/19

From the mind of critic:    “If we get ready for the day before it gets light, do we realize we’re pondering during the time when it’s darkest before the dawn? Do we ponder how beautiful, welcoming and opportunity filled the day will be, specifically because we know dawn is around the corner? Do we ponder how great the coming day will be, but don’t believe those thoughts are real because dark is all we see, which is what we determine is real? It isn’t darkest before the dawn, it may be coldest before the dawn, but it’s dark all night long. On the same token, it isn’t lightest at the dawn either, it’s light all day. Maybe we believe it’s the darkest before the dawn or lightest at dawn, because it’s a change from what was there before. Maybe it seems darkest, because we know light is going to envelope darkness, and believe it’s lightest for the same reason. Whether it’s dark all night, light all day, or umpteenth variations in between, we create our own reality by perceiving what we think is real. We can see light in the dark and vice versa, if we think it’s there. A dark cold night could bring thoughts of warmth, togetherness and brotherhood, or frigidness, division and spiteful hate, just like light can bring thoughts of loneliness, jealousy and low self-esteem, or beauty, unity and gratitude. Once we realize that where we allow our thoughts to travel, determines what we see in the world, regardless of temperature, light gradient or cliché sayings, we’ll see the ability to control our destiny through conscious choices has always been within us, we just have to organize our priorities to correspond with conditions on the ground, and the evolving soul within our bodies. We’ll see light, when we allow ourselves to feel light. Darkness isn’t always bad, just maybe an uncomfortable lesson. Dark or light doesn’t just appear, it fades in and out over time. Clichés can help our emotional state, but self-reflection, self-kindness and gratitude will usher sustainability.” ?

from the mind of critic: 2/10/19

From the mind of critic:       “When plans change from what was expected, to something that was hoped for but not expected, do we feel like we’re on vacation? Does the surprising nature of this new day, make our mind flip with all the possible options? Do we smile about the all the fun to be had, or do we frown with fear about all the unexpected occurrences around the corner? Does the freedom of not thinking make us feel care free, or ignorant of what’s around us? Does the freedom of choice and critical thought, make us brim with possibilities and excitement, or does the sheer number of choices overwhelm us, causing us to back into our cocoon where somebody else makes choices for us? Life can be fickle and controlling, it can be constrained and care free and everything in between. Our perspective governs whether we freak out, or go with the flow when life throws a curveball. Making matters more confusing, is when these perspectives and perceptions grow, evolve and mutate. What we thought one day when something happened, could be completely different when that same thing happens down the road. Once we realize planning does not equal a guarantee, we’ll see that whether we’re planning our day, hoping for the future or all the infinite variables in between, we can always be on vacation if we’re doing something we love; which is only possible if we think for ourselves, and don’t surrender our critical minds to somebody who sounds like they know what they’re talking about, when really they just want to control us by stealing our soul bit by bit. Change is expected, ignorant decisions shouldn’t be. We can only enjoy a new day, if we truly realize its new. Joy is had, when we allow our soul to soar. Not having to think isn’t freedom, it’s bondage. Critical thought will always destroy ignorance, as long as its used to deepen our love for our fellow man.” ?

from the mind of critic-2/9/19

From the mind of critic:      “When there’s no way to go but up, what about sideways? If there is no way to go but forward, what about sidestepping or backpedaling? Are we simply telling ourselves up or forward is the only possible direction, because we feel like we’ve hit rock bottom, or are trying to convince ourselves it is the bottom, just to give ourselves a chance to progress? When we’re scared to move forward, and take those steps we know we need to take from the bottom of our soul, sometimes we procrastinate, delay and pause because we’re scared. Sometimes this fear isn’t felt because we don’t want to fail, but because we’re afraid to succeed. The auspices of achieving our dreams can be easy to imagine, because they’re way at the end of a long journey. It’s so far away, that it doesn’t seem real. However, once we take steps toward that seeming impossibility, it starts changing into a real thing, which scares the shit out of us. This thing might actually happen we tell ourselves, we might actually achieve our dreams. Even though it’s something we’ve always wanted, we can fear it because its so different than what we’re living through presently, that it would flip our world upside down. Once we realize that breaking out of our comfort zone is exactly how we succeed, because not everything in that zone is to our benefit, and sometimes the exact opposite, we’ll see we need not fear success because it’s different, we need to fear stagnation disguised as success trying to keep everything the same. We stop moving sideways and start moving forward, when we turn fear into excitement. Rock bottom can always be lower, and dreams can be more vibrant depending on perception. We always choose our direction, even if we forfeit our choice. If we truly want to succeed, we’ll stop making excuses why we can’t, and formulate thoughts and then actions to prove to ourselves we can.” ?

from the mind of critic-2/8/19

From the mind of critic:        “If we truly measure a society by how it treats the lowest among us, who are constantly having benefits, healthcare and employment opportunities cut because they or their advocates aren’t big campaign contributors, is it any wonder a convicted murderer wouldn’t get their clergy person of choice when put to death? Is it any wonder Christian chaplains are available for all branches of Christianity, but no Rabbis, Imams or Shamans? Is it any wonder that as elite control of the serf class gets tougher, and their iron grip on upward mobility gets tighter, that the as of yet free for all people country, is still pushing a criminal, corrupt and vile notion that we are a white Christian country, and anybody who goes against that, whether they be the wrong color, religion, gender or sexual orientation, needs to be taken out, or completely controlled? Is it any wonder we’re screaming “I’m as mad as hell and won’t take it anymore”, but then don’t know where to take it once anger subsides, and clear thought returns? You would think that during a government sanctioned murder of an unsanctioned murderer, they’d be allowed to pray to whatever or whomever they wanted. You’d think a convicted murderer who happens to be Muslim, would be able to pray with their clergy person of choice to help them into the afterlife, like countless Christians’ before. What about Jews? Once we realize that until we stop murdering to prove murder is wrong, and ingraining into the human mind that murder is okay if deemed justified, that taking away rights will continue to rise in popularity, we’ll see that the choice of a Priest, Rabbi or Imam isn’t the disease, but a symptom that will destroy our species if we don’t act. Real strength, comes from real people. Getting to the light is the only thing that matters, not the path to get there. Freedom of religion means actual freedom, not tokenism. If we look at people as less than human in life, we’ll look at them the same in death. Society can be a mother fucker, it takes critical mass to turn the frown upside down.” ?

from the mind of critic-2/7/19

From the mind of critic:         “Is it still true that everything good for us tastes bad, and everything bad for us tastes good? Has technology, combined with human ingenuity and taste buds upset the old paradigm, that has survived ever since organic became non-conventional? Has big business, mega corporate farming and feed lots seen dollar signs, and made sure people have 15 different kinds of coconut chips, and a dozen different kinds of rice and nut milks? Have products arose which appear healthy because of organic ingredients and bright packaging, but are filled with just as much salt, fat, sugar and carbs? Have we let ignorance in the door because we want to eat good, we just don’t want to to think about it? Many of us hated eating broccoli as a kid, unless it was smothered in cheese. However, we might have been more likely to eat it if it was purple or orange, or advertised in a funny YouTube video. We can all agree many more options are available today so we can eat well. The meaning is good, people want to take care of their bodies, just like taking care of their families. Problems arise when we start ceding control to somebody, or some company who has more power, money and influence, and therefore whose word must carry more weight. Once we realize our taste buds change as we get older, and some things we used to like we hate and vice versa, we’ll see it’s us who adjusts our choices and likes, not the endless stream of money changers and gate keepers capitalizing on our choices, steering us toward what makes them money, not what keeps us healthy. Lots of people try to dupe us, we block them by not duping ourselves. Old paradigms are upset, because people see the falsity in “it’s always been that way”. Our taste buds might change, but our taste for something that wont harm us never will. Flooding the market with crap we don’t need is a CEOs dream, blocking that flood with truth, critical thought and education is ours. Organic used to be conventional, and will be again, when Bayer-Monsanto is revealed as the wolf in sheep’s clothing it really is.” ?
