from the mind of critic-6/21/17

From the mind of critic: “Do stereo-“types” matter, when looking for the most accurate representation of music? Does Sony, Bose or Panasonic amplify what music actually is, much more than the cheaper brands? Does the stereo-“type” not matter, because although the music amplifies differently through different brands and devices, it’s still music? Music will sound different coming from an RCA record player, compared to a Bose home theater system. Just like comments, ideas and experiences will sound different coming from a rich white guy from San Francisco, compared to a poor black man in Birmingham. Neither one is more credible than the other, and neither one’s opinions are more accurate. However, we must listen to find out what’s true, and what’s false. Once we realize that nobody’s opinion about a certain group or ethnicity is 100% correct, because they haven’t met every single person in the world from that group or ethnicity, we’ll see sterotypes float away once we open our eyes and ears, and close our mouths. Stereotypes only exist, because some people put their faith in them. If we stop putting our faith in them, they will float away like every American TV manufacturer” 🙂
