From the mind of critic: “If things don’t go right for us, do we throw up our hands and say fuck it? Do we see our failure or perceived failure as so definitive, that we see no point in fighting back or ever trying again? Does this perceived negative event only trend away from the positive spectrum, because all we see is the same moment playing over and over in our head like a broken record? Do we not see the moments that led to our supposed failure, let alone all the moments that’ll come after, because we think this moment is the end all be all, neglecting what Steve Perry said about the big wheel in the sky that keeps on turning? Do we not throw up our hands, but like the cliché says, we turn our frown upside down through knowledge gain? Do these lessons always push us in the right direction, or will they only trend that way if we use our filtered, open to possibilities character, and put one foot in front of the other in steady cadence into, and then through the unknown? We all have bad times, upsetting instances when nothing goes our way no matter how much work we put in, or pain we endure. These are times that will test the very core of who we are, and whether we have the stamina and courage to keep trudging on. That stamina doesn’t come from being the smartest or the strongest, but from the love, peace and understanding we share with our neighbors. Our tank fills with this positive energy, then when we venture into the wider world it makes everything better and brighter. However, not everything will be sunshine and roses, adversity, hardships and failure will happen sometimes no matter what we do. This is when we have to keep love on the forefront of our minds. It’ll never afford us the opportunity to delete negativity, but it’ll greatly shorten our turnaround time. Shit might happen, but so does beauty. We don’t lose hope, when we don’t lose our soul. If possession is 9/10ths of the law, so is perception. Failure is normal, giving up isn’t. Spreading love allows us to spread hope, starting with ourselves.” ?
