from the mind of critic-1/24/18

From the mind of critic: “If we know life is short, are we doing everything we can to extend our time? Are we taking care of ourself, eating right, getting enough sleep and being kind, because it can extend our physical time? Do we know life is short but don’t take care of ourselves, specifically because it can be taken away at any time, so what’s the point? Is there a difference between extending the physical amount of time we have, and how long a moment lasts? We all have a finite alotment of time on the earth. We can take care of our mind and bodies and extend our time by living longer. We can take care of our soul, and extend moments we have to encompass the entirety of our existence. We can do all this, but we can still be cut down by disease, drunk drivers and countless other events that can befall us just walking out our front door. Sometimes we don’t even have to walk out of our house, and we can have something happen that ends our journey right in our kitchen. Once we realize there are no guarantess in life no matter how hard we work, or how well we take care of ourselves, we’ll see being conscious of our actions will make our time more valuable, which inherently extends our time. If life is short, why would we ever waste it? Spending multiple moments doing what brings us joy, reveals time as an illusion. Taking care of ourself doesn’t guarantee a longer life, but it does increase our odds of success, and aren’t we suppossed to refrain from making life arbitrarily harder? Being conscious is the first step in our personal evolution, which must be accompolished for us to move to the second.” 🙂
