From the mind of critic: “Are humans born with hypocrisy, or is it learned through experience? Are governments formed with hypocrisy, or is it learned through experience? Are some governments less hypocritical than others, because some people are less hypocritical than others? Is hypocrisy etched in our genes because we’re not robots? Throughout human history there have been hypocritical acts, some with malicious intent and some without. If the cornerstone of democracy is eternal vigilance, then the cornerstone of humanity is honesty. Hypocrisy springs from dishonesty, but similar to lies, they come in varying degrees. The key to authenticity, is being conscious of our decisions and actions. If we don’t want to be hypocrites, we must live completely by our principles. Since no human ever has pulled that off, the best we can hope for is knowing what our pirnciples are, and practicing them as often as possible. Hypocritical governments, come from hypocritical humans. If we want governments to better represent us, we must better represent ourselves. Honesty isn’t simply the best policy, it’s the only policy that matters.” 🙂
